Frequently Asked Questions

Go ahead and interview me. Most people run these questions in their head and never ask them out loud, so I put my answers in writing.

Start With a Conversation

Schedule a consultation with me. That's it. That's the first step.

It's a conversation between you and me to fill in the gaps. You get to learn how I work, what I offer, and whether I feel like the right fit for you.

I get to understand what you're looking for, what brings you in, and what kind of support you're hoping to find.

From there, we'll decide together whether moving forward makes sense, and talk through what that would look like.

No pressure. Just a conversation.

Where You'll Be Sitting

I'm based in New Jersey and my practice is entirely virtual, so my office is wherever you choose to take me.

Your couch. The car, between errands. The one spot in the house where nobody can hear you.

Find a little privacy and a decent internet connection and we're good to go.

It works the way in-person therapy works, with better seating. You get the same intentional, focused work without the commute, the parking, or the part where you have to leave your house.

How Your Sessions Are Shaped

About 50 minutes. Long enough to actually get somewhere, short enough that we don't accidentally unpack your entire childhood before lunch.

That depends on what you need. We'll set your frequency during your intake and keep reassessing as we go.

Some seasons of life ask for more support. Others ask for a little more space to practice what we're working on between sessions.

Sort Out Your Calendar and Your Coverage

I'm a therapist by day and a mommy by night, so my evenings are spoken for. My latest appointment is 4:00 PM, which leaves us plenty of time for real work before I switch hats and head into mom mode.

Life happens. I get it. Give me at least 24 hours' notice and you're in the clear.

Cancellations and reschedules made with less than 24 hours' notice are subject to a cancellation fee.

I currently offer self-pay sessions. I don't bill insurance directly, though I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Find Out if I'm the Right Therapist for You

Individuals and couples, mostly young adults through midlife, generally early 20s through mid-50s.

I especially enjoy working with people who are ready to get curious about themselves and create meaningful change. I have a soft spot for youth, but I get enough of that particular demographic at home with my two children.

I love cat people. But team dog all day.

If You're Coming as a Couple

That's okay. Arriving equally enthusiastic isn't a requirement, and sometimes one partner is ready before the other.

A consultation can help us understand what's happening between you and figure out what kind of next step makes sense.

I won't. Picking a winner would be the least useful thing I could do for either of you.

My job is to help both of you understand what's happening, take responsibility for your part, and build a healthier way of relating. That doesn't mean I won't challenge you. I will.

If You're Not Sure You're Staying Together

Absolutely. In many cases, I actually encourage it.

You're allowed to walk in undecided. There are barriers, wounds, and patterns between you that haven't been fully explored yet, and therapy can create the space to finally address them.

And if separation becomes the right decision, therapy is still worth having. Moving through a transition with support, communicating clearly, and processing what happened is where the closure comes from.

Whatever the two of you decide, I want you to arrive there deliberately, with honesty, intention, and as much healing as we can get to.

Check My Credentials, Then Check My Podcast Queue

I hold a Master's degree in Social Work and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

My clinical training and areas of focus include couples work, anxiety and depression, identity development, life transitions, and trauma-informed care. I also draw from CBT, solution-focused and empowerment approaches, and Gottman research in my work with couples.

My Hearth display app, because where would I be without my calendar. And Apple Podcasts.

I love learning something new while I'm driving, walking, cleaning, or pretending I'm going to bed early.

Show Up However You Show Up

Absolutely not.

Sit. Stand. Curl up in your favorite chair.

Bring your coffee. Exist as a human being.

Pick whatever posture you like. The vulnerability comes standard.

Spock. I said what I said.

Whether You'll Cry, and Whether That's Fine

Probably, yes. There's no prize for holding everything in.

You're allowed to feel what you feel here.

Honestly, no. Safe and comfortable are two different things, and safe is the one I'm building for.

I want therapy to feel safe enough for you to be honest, and honest enough to challenge the patterns that aren't serving you.

Sometimes growth feels like relief. Sometimes it feels like, "Well, I really didn't want you to point that out." Both are useful.

Ask Me What This Page Missed

The questions people almost don't ask are usually the ones worth answering, and I'd rather hear yours now than three sessions from now.

Schedule a consultation and bring the list.

Come Look at It with Me

Somewhere up there was a Wednesday, a bag by the door, or a message you rewrote four times before you sent it. You knew which one was yours.

Growth starts with being willing to look at that again, with somebody in the room who has seen it before and won't flinch.

No pressure. Just a conversation.
